====== Starting vMix ====== - Turn on the cameras before starting vMix * Otherwise they will display as a black screen * If vMix is displaying a black screen from the cameras the only way to fix it is to restart vMix ====== Understanding the vMix Screen ====== {{ :hpc:vmix-home3.png?600 |}} ====== Understand Our Camera Setup ====== In vMix we have two "real" cameras and many "virtual" cameras that will move the real cameras to point at the pulpit, lectern, etc. The real cameras are called **Right Camera** and **Center Camera**. The virtual cameras have descriptive names for what they point at like **Center Pulpit** or **Right Communion Table**. Selecting a virtual camera into the Preview or Live windows will move the real camera to that preset position. ===== Normal Operation ===== There is already a virtual camera input for every shot you need. ===== Viewing Slides ===== The virtual inputs **Center Slides** and **Right Slides** combine the PowerPoint slides from the iMac with the exact center of the current camera view. If you have **Right Lectern** in the Live Window and click on **Right Slides** you'll see the Preview Window contain the PowerPoint slides and the lectern. ==== Trouble with the Slides View ==== If for whatever reason you need to adjust the camera while viewing slides it gets a little complicated. The camera cannot be controlled while using a composite view like slides + camera. Instead you need to move the **Right Slides** to the Live Window, and then move the **Right Camera** input into the Preview Window. Now you can issue commands for the right camera to move and the movement will also be shown in the **Right Slides** window. ====== Pan/Tilt/Zoom a live shot ====== You can move the camera in vMix using the number keypad. In almost all circumstances, don't move the camera while it is "live". But when you need to here's how. vMix allows using keys as Shortcuts to perform functions. Jason has bound the following Shortcuts on the number pad to send commands to the camera that is **in the Preview Window.** {{ :hpc:mouse_keys2.png?200 |}}
